Algernon Blackwood (1869 – 1951), as we mentioned earlier this week, is thought to be one of the early 20th century’s best supernatural authors. The good folks at LiteralSystems.org agree, and they’ve recorded an unabridged reading of Blackwood’s The Empty House for your listening pleasure. Blackwood did write Horror stories, but he went along with the school of thought that placed of awe above terror in what makes a good Horror story.
