  1. My first comment on your webpage was on your podcast about The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and the Headless Horseman is described thusly:

    The dominant spirit, however, that haunts this enchanted region, and seems to be commander-in-chief of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback, without a head.

    “The powers of the air” is a reference to Ephesians 2:2, and I’ve also seen it translated as “powers of the unseen world”. Demons, elementals, ghosts, sprites… there’s really no folkloric distinctions.
