Otterbox Commuter (Black) for iPhone 5c

I first bought the OtterBox Commuter (black) case for iPhone 5c back in June 2014. I really needed a case because I kept dropping my iPhone 5c. I really like the two layered protection that the OtterBox case offered, I feel like it reduces the impact when dropped (which I’ve done many times). I even threw my phone with the case on it at a friend once, it was barely scratched, my friend was okay too. The only time I really damaged the OtterBox Commuter case (black) for iPhone 5C was when I put it up to the hot glass pane in front of my gas fireplace, the rubber melted a bit.

The rubber lip that covers the edges of the phone is really useful too, I’m not too worried about my screen being scratched now. The only issues I had with the OtterBox Commuter case (black) for iPhone 5C was how hard it was to snap on or off when I first purchased it. And at $40 (cdn) it was a little pricey.

I really like the interlocking layers for the OtterBox Commuter for iPhone 5C (black), but the power button inside the case requires more pressure than I’d prefer. The volume buttons are just fine. The thing that annoys me the most is the cut-out circle in the back of the case, because the Apple logo is not perfectly centered. On the other hand, even with the case on, any third party lightning cables I’ve tried will still charge the phone with no problem.

I’d recommend the OtterBox Commuter case (black) for iPhone 5C to friends who are likely to drop their phones on a regular basis.
