I’ve been selling Durkin Hayes Paperback Audio audiobooks for about 10 years. None of them are available on Audible.com as DH Audio (formerly Durkin Hayes, formerly Listen For Pleasure) was going bankrupt about the same time Audible.com took off. These are all out-of-print audiobooks, and I think they’re some of the very best ever put to tape. Anybody want to buy some?
All of these are $5.00 each (U.S. or Canadian). That’s $0.01 above the original retail price. Buy 6 or more and I’ll throw in free shipping to the USA. For other countries (including my own country of Canada) I’ll charge a flat shipping fee of $5.00 for an unlimited number of audiobooks. All of these are single cassette audiobooks. They’re all “brand new” and “shrinkwrapped”. I’ve heard all of them, some pretty recently. If you have any questions please post em below or email. Money orders and PayPal are both ok. Details follow the pics:

Only two more chapters are left to go before the latest Liaden Universe novel by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller is entirely available as a podcast novel. I listened and reviewed the first novel in this series, it was released by Buzzy Multimedia. This is about the 12th novel in the series (it’s hard to tell exactly), but as the official website says:
Fledgling is a “side book.” A “side book” is a book that is coincidental to the main action of a series, which is expected to be of little interest, except to stalwart fans — and to the authors.
There are also plans to release the next novel (Saltation) as a podcast too. If you’re a Liaden Universe addict you probably already know about this, if you’re not, have a listen to a few chapters of this podcast – those who love it, REALLY LOVE IT!

Dr. James J. Campanella, the wonderful narrator of the wonderful The Merchant And The Alchemist’s Gate at StarShipSofa, has just premiered Lester Dent’s The Man of Bronze bookcast on his own podcast! Here’s the scoop:
In honor of the 75th anniversary of the first publication of the legendary pulp novel The Man of Bronze by Lester Dent, we will be presenting an audio bookcast of the novel starting May 9, 2008. Doc Savage, the hero of the novel, is the archetype for almost every major literary and film hero of the 20th Century including Superman, Batman, James Bond, and Buckaroo Banzai. Despite there being several radio shows of Doc over the last 70 years, this will be the first time that The Man of Bronze will be presented complete and unabridged.
Doc Jim sez:
“I’ve started with an introduction and history of the characters, author, and book– next week I will continue with the actual beginning of the story itself. The bookcast will be ‘dramatically enhanced with sound effects’ which is something I usually only edit into juvenile stories.”

Public Radio International’s Selected Shorts (an event at New York’s Symphony Space, in which actors read classic and new short fiction before a live audience) recently had Art Spiegelman (comic book auteur) and Françoise Mouly (art editor of The New Yorker) pick some short stories for a series of live readings. One of them was Philip K. Dick’s Beyond Lies the Wub! Spiegleman introduces the tale. It’s interesting to hear this familiar and excellent tale read live. Narrator Denis O’Hare doesn’t perform it as a regular audiobook narrator would, but it’s kind of fun to hear a different take on it. Compare this version to the excellent Wonder Audio version.
